Wireless vs Wired Speakers

When you are at home watching a movie or enjoying music you want to enjoy the sound! This blog post is going to explain the benefits of the different types of options you can choose from that are ideal for your home setup.

Firstly when choosing your options there is a difference in speakers that should be explained.  Wired speakers vs wireless, what's the difference?

It’s about where the speakers receive their audio signal from.  A wireless speaker is receiving that signal from radio frequency.  This can be from your wi-fi or bluetooth.  Wired speakers are receiving this signal directly from wired audio cables that would be run to a receiver.  This receiver is what powers your speakers; it sends the signal directly to the speaker from these audio cables.

The next question is which is the best setup for your home! A wired speaker setup is a much more labor intensive setup for the fact that speaker wire needs to be run to each location but the quality of sound is a lot higher with wired speakers because it has a direct wired connection for signal to each speaker.

Wireless speakers give you more freedom of the amount of speakers or location of speakers.  For example if you want to move the speakers to a new location all you have to do is plug them into a different electrical outlet.

A soundbar for your television is a newer innovation that falls under the wireless speaker category.  There are multiple options for this device but I always recommend Sonos if you are going with this option.  The quality of sound is top of the line and it allows connectivity via hdmi arc to the television and wifi streaming for audio!

Both are great options to increase the quality of sound throughout your home and if you wish to get inspired please review our website for more information!
